President's Message ~ March 2014

I can’t believe how quickly the months have flown by-here we are in March! They say spring is just around the corner.

As I write this note- our Gala planning committee continues to get ready for April 12. Tickets are selling fast so make sure your friends and acquaintances are offered a ticket or two in the next few weeks. And we are still looking for silent and live auction items. This week’s Club forum will have a review the Gala status. Please put a priority on this over the next 6 weeks.

Congratulations to our February committee who brought in such excellent speakers last month. And as I browse the March agenda on Club Runner- I see that Dennis and his team have outdone himself again. And I have just learned that our DG plans to come in the next few weeks and present us the District literacy award for last year- we have won this many years in a row. Good work Dennis and literacy helpers.

I am away for a few weeks in Cabo. We flew out Thursday morning- -20C and arrived 5.5 hours later to +30 C. I have never seen so many happy Torontonians as they stepped off the plane onto the run way. I am hoping that things warm up by the time I get home!
