It has been 5 months since I became President- and it has been a whirlwind - lots of fun and many memorable times. Great people working on worthy causes sums up our Club.

On December 4 at the Annual General Meeting I updated the membership on the status of this year’s initiatives. I was pleased to report we are on track on our many programs. Ken Graham also indicated that we are on budget. Good news all around. Bernie and Dennis updated us on our signature programs – the Seniors dinner and our Literacy programs. The Seniors dinner was another real success and the membership thanked Bernie and his committee another job well done. And of course Bernie expressed a big thank you to all of the volunteers. Dennis updated us on the Literacy initiatives which are proceeding as planned. He noted that we won the District Literacy award again last year and received a well- deserved round of applause from our members. Dennis also took a moment to present Saara with a dictionary from our Club. Richard also updated us on the India project. We received the matching district grant and the money is now in India where work can start on replacement of the school roof. Richard noted that three other Rotary clubs contributed to the project. The grant and spearheading an international project are firsts for our Club and Richard received a well- deserved round of applause for his leadership on this project.

We only have two more meetings in December and then we shut down until after New Year’s.  I wanted to remind you about the Christmas Party at the Villa on December 18. Tickets are available from Ken Graham and don’t forget to bring a toy (unwrapped). See you there.
