The Rotary Room at the Library was once again the location of this year's Past President's dinner. We had a great turnout, great food, lots of laughs and 3 Paul Harris Awards were presented. The annual dinner honours all Past Presidents and this year was a chance to honour Mike Fowler who completed his second time as President last year. Mike is the third two time Club President- Aubrey and Karl have also completed two years as Club President.

Mike Fowler summed up his year and thanked everyone for his support. Mike then asked everyone to open an envelope at each table to announce the first Paul Harris award- to Jack Ricketts- who has been ill over the last year. Mike and Bob  had gone to Jack's home to present his award earlier in the week and a photo of Jack receiving the award was in each envelope. Mike advised that Jack was very pleased and honoured to be the recipient of a Paul Harris award. Jack has been a long term active member and has continued to support our club while at home. This past summer Jack called people to sponsor signs once again at our annual golf tournament.
The next Paul Harris award was presented to Frank Baxter who was visibly moved to receive the award. Frank gave a speech from the bottom of his heart and which reflected his deep commitment to Rotary. Everyone agreed Frank was a worthy recipient.
Once these awards were presented Bob Brownson and Bob Strickert called Mike back to the front and presented him with his second Paul Harris award- for which he received a Paul Harris +1 pin. Mike was actually caught off guard and several people commented that it was the first time they had ever seen Mike at a loss for words- even if it was only for 20 seconds or so. Certainly another worthy recipient.
Special thanks to Christy who chaired the planning committee, to Fran and Joanne for their support and work pulling it all together, to Mike Gaudet and  Ken Graham who helped out with whatever was needed and Ochun who not only helped out and but supplied Poppies to the attendees.
A once again- congratulations to Jack, Frank and Mike for their awards.
