Water for roof project

After much work and anticipation the replacement of the asbestos roof on the 100 year old school in southern India has begun! This is our first District Club grant project and a new experience for the club. What makes it special is that the Rotary Clubs of Bowmanville, Whitby and Ajax are with us on this joint project. The project has gone smoothly to date, however, the severe lack of rain has required purchasing water for the cement.

The new roof will be used to harvest rain and we hope will provide some water for the school. There are some additional pictures online in the photo gallery. In other news our club has been asked to speak about our project at an incoming District session for Foundation qualification.

We'll keep you updated on further developments as they occur.
