Our Club Donates $10,000 to Caesarea Skate Park for Kids!
The Rotary Club of Port Perry is pleased to announce they are donating $10,000 towards the project of builing a Skate Park in Caesarea. A bit of background about the project:
Caesarea is a small community located in the Township of Scugog. It’s a sleepy town in the winter and thrives in the summer with cottagers and many children. The Caesarea Skate Park Committee (CSP) started 5 years ago when one woman, Susie Bollon, followed her dream to build a skate park for the kids of Caesarea, and surrounding towns. After watching her son, Billy, and his friends skateboarding; bmx biking & skootering in the streets with cars passing by, she knew something had to be done to keep our children safe. CSP is a not-for-profit organization and has been raising money through bottle drives, flea markets, tween Halloween dances and more recently adult dances.
