Occo van Tijn received the Paul Harris Award for club and community service from Michael Stewart, past President on 28 October 2020.
With tremendous pride, I presented Occo van Tijn with the Paul Harris Award for his endless effort and contribution to our club and our community. Occo and Susan truly live the lives worthy of the Paul Harris honour. They selflessly support so many projects within our community and club. Aside from Occo's contribution to the club as Treasurer, I know that Susan and Occo both play leadership roles in their church, Anglican Church of the Ascension. Personally, it has been wonderful to get to know Susan and Occo. I am fortunate to have had the honour to present the award and share how much respect and appreciation we, as a club and a community, have for Susan and Occo. Congratulations, and thank you for all you do.
