I am looking forward to representing the Rotary Club of Port Perry as its President this year and with your help I know we will have another successful year.
First, a special thanks to Karl Herder for pulling us through one of the most economically challenging years in recent history. He has left us in great financial shape.
I am very pleased to announce that we have committee chairs for all our planned events for the year including the golf tournament. Thanks to each of you for offering your services and a special thanks to non-Rotarians who have so kindly offered to help again this year as co-chairs.
As president, my main focus will be on helping Larry Wright develop a youth program and to promote student exchange once again. This is one area that we have been neglecting for the past several years and I know it is important not only to Larry and myself but to all the members of the Club. I remember our exchange students bringing that extra spark to the Club and it would be nice to have that back again. My second goal is to develop an international project we can get actively involved in.
